We offer patients anxiety free dentistry by means of ORAL SEDATION or IV SEDATION ensuring that patients will be completely relaxed through their dental appointments.

Conscious Oral Sedation

Oral Sedation. A sedative pill taken by mouth, is safe, convenient and economical. When administered by a qualified dentist such as our dentist, Oral sedation can be more effective and deliver a deeper relaxation state than other forms of sedation. When you come for your free initial consultation, the dentist will review your medical history and will determine if oral sedation is the best sedation option for you.

The Oral Sedation Procedure

The procedure is simple. When you arrive for your treatment you will be given an oral sedative which will put you into a relaxed and comfortable state. You will be awake but very drowsy. The time you spend in the dentists chair will feel like minutes. Before you know it the procedure is over and you will have little recollection of the entire experience.

IV Sedation

IV Sedation or "Intravenous Sedation" is administered through a drug directly into a vein. IV Sedation is the most preferred and predictable method of sedation where deep sedation is desired. Profound state of relaxation and amnesia is achieved during IV sedation.

The IV Sedation Procedure

An extremely thin needle is inserted by our anesthesiologist into a vein close to the surface of the skin. IV drip consists of an anti-anxiety medication which puts the patient into a state of deep relaxation. Time will appear to pass very quickly and you will not recall much, or perhaps even nothing at all, of what happened.

A local anesthetic will also be administered in conjunction with this method of dental sedation. When you come for your free initial consultation, the dentist will review your medical history and will determine if IV sedation is the best sedation option for you.

Pulse Oximeter & Blood Pressure Monitoring

During all sedation appointments, the blood pressure and pulse are continually monitored on our patients. In addition, we monitor the oxygen saturation levels of the blood with a pulse oximeter that gently clips onto the finger.

Hello, my name is Brian Thomas and I came in today with severe pain and as it turned out I needed a root canal and Jamie was the lady I talked to who told me to come in and they would check me real quick. Anyway, Jamie was very helpful again, very professional, and I really appreciate the fact they could get me in on such short notice. Dr. Zeda did the work on my teeth today and was exceptional. She has a very gentle touch and yet she was very professional in the way she went about doing the root canal. Her assistant was Janelle and again she was very professional, very accommodating. The teamwork between herself and Dr. Zeda I thought was exemplary; it was just incredible the way they worked together. It seemed like Janelle kind of anticipated what Dr. Zeda’s needs were and DR. Hi, my name is Joanne. I have sleep apnea and have tried the C-Pap machine, several different head devices and they have not worked for me. It was very difficult and cumbersome and uncomfortable. My doctor recommended I come and see Dr. Sharma and see about the device you put in your mouth to help with sleep apnea and it was a very simple process, very fast. I used it the first night and there was a huge improvement on my sleep, but I started noticing something else phenomenal. I have shoguns syndrome and it creates a very dry and very sore mouth. I noticed that my mouth was not as dry and the tissue is more comfortable with this device because I’m not breathing so much through my mouth. I’m apparently now breathing through my nose. The device also did something else I wasn’t expecting and that’s preventing teeth grinding. So the device has helped me a lot, it’s improved wonderfully, I will wear it every night, it’s not uncomfortable or cumbersome, is easy to travel with and I’m a real supporter of the device for sleep apnea. So if your one that has problems with the C-Pap or headgear and aren’t comfortable with the congestion and lack of mobility, it’s a wonderful way to solve the problem and I’m a proponent of this device. We came from an established practice, we were patients there for 20 some years and because of insurance changes that led us to go elsewhere, we’ve been here six years and always had good service. The people have been always very friendly, the dentist that have done the real procedures as far as crowns or fillings have been very kind and very well and we really haven’t had a negative experience. Sometimes we may have to wait longer than we would expect but that’s just the way things are but we’ve always been treated with kindness so we would definitely recommend the dental treatment we receive there. We notice the difference between the two with the upgrades they seem to have and use the more contemporary methods to clean. Hi, I’m Kirk from Vashon Island. I want to thank Dr. Sharma and his staff for the really good service they’ve given me. I was referred to Dr. Sharma by my sleep specialist doctor for a fitting of a dental device to treat my sleep apnea. Dr. Sharma thoroughly explained the process to me and expertly fitted me and lo and behold, for the first time in 20 years I’m sleeping through the night and waking up rested in the morning. I might add that my sleep doctor originally prescribed C-Pap, which I tried for three horrible months to absolutely no benefit. So for me a dental device is light years better than C-Pap. It’s efficient, effective, far less cumbersome and certainly less expensive. I also want to thank Dr. Sharma’s support staff; they’re very caring, very professional, it’s obviously an efficient and well-run dental office. I'm not from Washington but I needed immediate dental attention. I was very hesitant and nervous to see a dentist so far from home but the people at Avenue Dental Care made me feel very comfortable. I have had extensive work done on my teeth back home and the dentist I went to for 27 years was NEVER this good to me. I saw Dr. Arpita and she was a very sweet lady. She showed compassion and empathy with my situation and did everything she could to help me out. I thought I would have to spend $10k to have 2 teeth extracted and have bridges or implants, but she did a thorough check and told me that my teeth could be saved and were definitely worth saving. I had been in pain for 6 months and was on antibiotics and pain killers for that long until I went to see Dr. Arpita. I had headaches like I had never had before and they all went away after Dr. Arpita worked her magic. She performed a root canal. She always made sure to tell me exactly what she was doing before she did it. If knew she was going to do something that may cause a little discomfort, she made sure to tell me. But none of it was bad. The procedure took quite awhile, but it was to be expected and I knew she was trying to be thorough. She was even courteous enough to apologize and explained why the procedure was taking a little longer. I didn't mind it. I think the only reason why I didn't like it was because my jaws were killing me from having my mouth open for that long (I have TMD, so that is to be expected as well). But, that soreness went away. Now, I have absolutely NO headaches. I am a happy camper! The entire staff at Avenue Dental were terrific. The dental assistants, Anna and Rachel, were very kind and energetic. They really knew their stuff too, which made me feel even more at ease. They are a friendly bunch at Avenue Dental and I would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone in the Everett, WA area. Hey, even if you AREN'T from Everett, WA and are just in the area like I was, I would definitely recommend them. They also gave me a $25 gift card to Target for referring my boss. It was awesome!

This no-frills office was a godsend for me during a recent tooth emergency. First of all, to agree with a previous review - they are upfront about the cost of services, which is reasonable (important to those of us who are currently uninsured).
